Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager located in Jackson, WY. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing many aspects of the business, including managing staff, inventory, customer relations, and operational efficiency. This role involves day-to-day decision-making, strategic planning, and ensuring the overall success of Teton Backcountry Rentals and Bear Aware.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management and customer relations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the outdoor recreation industry and familiarity with camping and winter backcountry equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
  • Proven track record of achieving business goals.

Position Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Take lead on all aspects of employee hiring and scheduling.
  • Oversee and audit rental gear inventory. Execute seasonal ordering as needed and forecasted.
  • Oversee all employee and customer communication.
  • Lead by example while training and working in day to day operations as needed.
  • Lead seasonal shop transitions.

Physical/Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and physically move equipment between storage unit and shop.
  • Ability to work on a computer and multi task, and be on your feet for a full day depending on what the particular day demands.
  • Driver's license/Clean driving record/Comfortable pulling a trailer.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

This role includes 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a $1000 annual equipment stipend, generous PTO and a 3% IRA company match retirement program. Salary is DOE.
