The ACLU seeks a Temporary Legal Assistant to work in our Jackson office. The Legal Assistant will support our team of attorneys with a variety of tasks, including immigrants’ rights work. English and Spanish fluency, a keen eye for detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, and ability to process mail, email and voicemails efficiently and accurately are critical. Additional duties include drafting letters, emails and legal documents, scheduling, copying, scanning and filing case paperwork. Previous law office experience preferred but not necessary for the right candidate – anyone who is bilingual and interested in advancing civil and immigrant rights is encouraged to apply! Full-time position of 35 hours per week, paying $33.70 per hour. Work hours are Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM. Three-month contract eligible for renewal for up to one year.
